Diff between FM mod & dedicated?
Diff between FM mod & dedicated?
Now that I really think about it, instead of a cd player then getting a cd changer, I should have just kept the stock unit and gotten an FM modulated changer. Is there really a huge difference in sound quality?
For one a CD player has a frequency response of 20 to 20kHz. A typical FM tuner only has a frequency response of 50 to 15kHz. An FM tuner doesn't have anywhere near the dynamic range or stereo separation of a CD player either.
Basically its the difference between listening to radio quality and listening to CD quality to some it dosent matter but I wouldnt put it in my car. If quality isnt your main concern then theres no problem with doing it.
yeah, what they said, i have a twelve disc changer (using fm modulator) in my car and can barely tell the difference between my car and another friend w/ a firebird that has a cd player in the dash.
If you're looking for a FM modulated 6 CD Changer, I am selling my Alpine soon. I got a whole alpine system under the impression my new head unit would control this, but apparently alpine has 2 different types of changers.
Anyway, if you want it, I'll make you a deal.
