tore my pass. side door apart yesterday to find a rattle and after pulling the speaker out i fing a huge mess of wires and a small bose amp attached to the speaker bracket. I know the car was wrecked and repaired, then someone put a kenwood in it and cut and spliced a bunch of wires. i think i will gut the whole system and start fom scatch. i was told that the bose system was a option from 93-95 but this is a 98.

 

I believe it's optional. not 100% sure tho. Do you have a CD changer in the hatch?

 

no cd changer anywhere. the reason i was wondering was due to finding a Bose amp attached to the pass. side door speaker. Someone had made a mess of the wiring to the speaker and replaced it with a factory 4 ohm speaker. No wonder it was only half as loud as the drivers side,lol. Guess i will go to a salvage yard and see if i can find a 2 ohm speaker and just replace the pass. side. It would be the cheapest way out untill its time to do the whole system.

 

I'm pretty sure that the Monsoon was the only stereo "upgrade" starting in '97 or '98. It was the only stereo upgarde available when I bought my '99 T/A

Maybe the previous owner installed a Bose system they had. That would probably explain the wiring mess.
