In-dash DVD?

Went to see the guy who does my car audio today. He told me he's going to check in about a deck for me. I asked how much a Blankput (sp.) In-Dash DVD was he said around 2 grand! (1400 US?)

But I could live without a high quality deck like that.

This one goes for around 550 USD, which is what I'm lookin' for! Anybody have any info about 'em, and any in-dash DVD player owners chime in!

I wouldn't consider Blaupunkt high end. If you wand a good in dash DVD I would look into the Pioneer AVIC-N1. It also has GPS built in. IMHO Apline and Clarion are higher quality than Blaupunkt.

I was going to look into an in-dash DVD unit with GPS and all that jazz...but it's simply a rip off right now, no matter what you get. I think I'd just rather get a Lap Top for about the same price and keep it on the passenger seat or find a way to mount it on the center stack some time. I can't believe how much they charge for these DVD players for cars

expect to pay probably $1500+ for a good in-dash dvd player. i looked into it but didn't think it was worth the money.

Re: In-dash DVD?

When are you going to watch a movie in your car? Sitting at the ferry terminal? Stuck on the Port Mann? Are you too cheap to take your girlfriend to the movies and would rather just rent a movie?

I guess I can't complain. I used to like going to the drive in.

Cheapest I've seen an in dash DVD player was $299 in Houston. But they really don't interest me that much.

You should post stuff like that on here when you see it! I would have been all over that.

I was more interested in the 82" rear projection TV I'd seen the day earlier. Man that sucker was huge. Wasn't a narrow TV like most new big screens are. I don't know how you'd ever move it.

The guy says he would like to get me into a Nakamichi deck, apparently they're sweet as hell. My buddy is right though, he said if you get a DVD player soon enough somebody will steal it.

I know a kid who had a Panasonic in his G35 coupe, they ripped his entire dashboard apart and stole it!

I had an older Kenwood in my T/A for a bit, and my buddy has had an Alpine in his T/A and Tahoe. Love them. Never had anyone steal them.
