connecting speakers? Stupie here.

Hey guys,
I'm speaker-stupid. My driver side speaker is blown. I have the door trim off and my new speaker will be here any day now.
Question is how do I hook up the speaker wire to the new speaker? I just cut the blown speaker from the speaker wire.
Now, when I get the new speaker, do I just twist the wires together? Or do I have to solder them?
Please help the ignorant!!!

Chris

do you have a stock speaker or aftermarket? If stock, then it's just plug and play. If it's aftermarket, then make sure you note which one is positive and which one is negative and connect accordingly. If you are replacing stock w/ an aftermarket, then check the wiring at www.installdr.com and follow the wiring diagram for the pos and neg connection. Preferably, solder the wires together

The speaker is stock. It didn't seem to have a plug though, just permanently wired together.

if stock, then it's just plug and play. Remove the entire speaker baffle and you'll see the plugs

The DOOR speaker has a plug? I swear I didn't see a plug. Is it INSIDE the door? How far down on the wire is the plug?

OK, the new speakers are from a 98 Z28 with a 2 prong plug. My car is an 02 Z28 w/ Monsoon and has a 4 prong plug. Can I force this to work? How do I hook them up?

Thanks in advance
Stupe, I mean Chris :-)
