Component setup question.
I was wondering if I brought components and just hooked them up and disconnected my back Pioneer coax speakers, how would it sound? The four channel amp I have now is not powerful enough for componets and I do not feel like buy two 2 channel amps or one expensive pumped up four channel amp.
You could ditch both the front and the rear coax's and then bridge the 4ch amp and hook up the components that way.
If not that, at least keep the coax's in the rear and put the components up front.
To answer your original question, it will sound like poo! If you keep coax's in the front and put components in the rear all the well produced sound will be coming from behind you, and that is exactly the thing you do not want. You want the good sound coming from in front of you.

The distortion will not be audible to the human ear. THD is not such an important spec. I've never seen the THD on any amp that would be high enough to be audible.
I would leave the coaxials in the rear and run them off the HU. Bridge the 4 channel and run the components with that. Then use the HU to fade out the rears so you have the amount of rear fill you like. If you don't like rear fill at all you can turn of the rears but if you have them you might aswell hook them up IMO.

.What comps are you looking at running? Might wanna make suer they can handle what your amp is pushing.
