Unhappy Cigarette Lighter fuse blows

I've been tapping into the cig lighter to power my Sirius Satellite Radio receiver. After more than a year of flawless use, it now blows the fuse as soon as the ignition is turned on. Where do you suppose is this obvious short?

I would obviously start where you are tapped in to it. Arent the fbody lighters constant power though, and not switched?

Yes the plugs are a constant. And like the post above me said check were you taped it.
You may want to try to find power on the fuse block there are sometimes a empty slot that says battery or something like that. and run power from that. just use a in line fuse rated at what ever the recever calls for. That way if the sat radio does go out you can find the problem a little faster.
Also if you have kids you may want to look into the lighter itself, mine did put a dime down in it, and I blew 4 fuses before I looked and saw it.It realy isnt a good idea to run power like that, it could cause the main lighter wire to over heat and could start a fire. This is all just my opinion but that is how I run my XM set, and have not had a problem one.
