Changing fog light bulb?

How the hell am I supposed to reach in that tiny area to change the bulb? From the bottom looks like more work than from the top....There is a huge plastic guard where it is. Any of you guys done this?

Re: Changing fog light bulb?

Yea, it's a pain in the butt to do, but i've done both on mine. I *think* it's a torqx 20. Should be two of them holding the housing in. Carefully unscrew them (don't drop the screw like I did, or you'll have to get underneath to fish it out of the bumper cover). It's tricky, but it can be done. Once the bracket is off, it's pretty self explanatory, just change like any other bulb.

Install is the reverse, and try not to drop the screw. I think i dropped it 3 or 4 times before i got it in there right :P

Not impossible, but frustrating at times.

n-joy.

I too had to change a bulb and what I found easer was to pry the glass lens off the front , but use somthing non-metalic so you do not break the glass lens , it is just siliconed on , replace the bulb and silicone the lens back on with clear silicone and let if cure for a few hours .

ive done both of mine too. Very big PITA job. The hardest part i think is getting the side pins back in, more specifically the one closest to the center of the bumper. My only suggestion is to put a piece of paper under the fog light so that the pins/screws dont fall into the bumper. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time trying to get the pin to fall out of the bumper to continue on.

Did you have to take off the black plastic stuff underneath, or were you able to reach with your hand? If you were able to reach without taking that stuff off, that sounds so much easier. LOL
