Question Cellphone interference with new HU

After installing a new HU (DEH-P47DH) and switching to Cingular (GSM, Razr), I got a lot of interference between my stereo and cellphone. I can hear any intimate detail of my cellphone protocol, trying to to switch to different band, prior to receiving call / etc. It's getting really annoying.
With my previous phone, there was no problems. With my carrent phone on another f-body no problems.
Please let me know what do you think it can be, and is there way to fix it?

i have the same problem with my cingular phones. Any other brand doesnt have these issues, only cingular, and its worse with certain phones then others. I'm just waiting for my contract to end so I can switch providers.

Sorry to not have an answer, but you're not the only one.

Dont get Nextel either then, cuz while you cant hear whats going on, the speakers start clicking and popping when you are getting a call and while you are on the phone.

I have the crappy Cingular LG 1300c and it does the same thing with my car. Didn't notice it until I installed the Sirius and set the wireless transmitter. Now I hear the damn thing all the time.

I've heard this problem with Cingular and Nextel. Verison and T-Mobil seem ok.

It is not the Carrier that is the problem, It is the fact that it is a GSM style phone. All you can do is move the phone further away from the HU. A foot away is usually enough but it might have to be a little further.

Re: Cellphone interference with new HU

I had exact same band GSM phone (V300) from other company (T-Mobile), never had any problems. Moving phone helps, but beleive it or not, badest interference I am getting when phone is on back seat. Maybe impedance of my amp and headunit are not matching well

thats not the case at all. I have had MANY MANY different GSM phones, from MANY different carriers, and the only ones with interference this bad were ALL Cingular.
