CD Changer Confusion

I havea 95 Trans am with a Delco Cassette Player

I want to buy a cd changer for it. I was thinking at Kenwood one, and I would buy a Digital Protocol Adapter PIE GM10 i think it is for it, so I can plug it into the back of my stock HU.

As far as wiring, i heard some F-body's were prewired for a cd changer and some are not. How do I go about installing this, whats all invovled, or should I even go a different route. Everything is stock.

Re: CD Changer Confusion

It depends on which adapter you get. One is designed to plug into the back of the factory HU. The other plugs into the factory harness back where the factory changer gets mounted. If you get the one that plugs into the back of the factory HU you don't need the factory harness. You'll need to get a Kenwood cable to go from the PIE adapter to wherever you mount your Kenwood changer.
