Angry car alarms

Since the search link is not working... I'd like to know which are some of the better security options that are out there. I am looking for something advanced and rather high tech for a few hundred $$. Lately the teenagers around here are breaking into the cars and stealing CDs, change and what ever is loose to get their little paws on. I've been forced to keep both my yard lights on all night long because of this B*LL SH*T!!! Just curious... How much are the talking alarms?? Anyone have any suggestions? Just got my car back from the body shop, looks brand spanking new but cost 4gs and I'm a LITTLE concerned here!

Re: car alarms

Just go down to Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. and buy a decent Viper alarm. Also, some other brands are made by the maker of Viper which is a company called "DEI". DEI makes Viper, Rattler, Hornett and a few others. Any of those would be fine. You don't really need the talking one, but you can buy a few extra sirens and have them put those under the hood if you wish.

Your basic alarm will trigger a warning tone if the vehicle is hit softly, then if the hits don't stop or get harder it will go off. It will also go off if the door is opened. You could also have a hood pinswitch added so if the thieves try to pop your hood and disconnect the battery it would triger the alarm.
