Car Alarm

Does anyone know anything about a system like this? Is it a cheap alarm or is it a good one? How does the stock keyless entry work with an aftermarket setup?

Re: Car Alarm

Dont get it.
I bought one about 2 years ago. It worked great just like it said, remote start on 6spd, pager all nice. Then about 15months later it just stop working so I could not activate or deactivate the alarm.(one year warranty) Well thinking it was a fluke I just bought another one since it would hook right back up. Well it did and then after 4 months the siren just stopped working. Well trying to get the warranty to fix it I emailed the seller and he said he had no record of me buying it. So I emailed him my paypal receipt and he said no record still and now will not respond to my emails. So I replaced the siren and it still does not work. So alarm craps out and there is no warranty.
You can take a chance and get one because when they are working they are nice but its a chance you have to take.

Re: Car Alarm

check this site out www.asianwolf.com.. They also have ebay ads with even cheaper prices..I was thinking of the Commando 5005 on their site. But decided to spend a little more and get proven quality..

I am looking at a more expensive Viper 791 (Clifford 3.5)unit.. DEI makes some really decent alarms.

Re: Car Alarm

Look on ebay for Clifford, Dei, Ungo, CodeAlarm, and Omega. All have units with similar features and can be found for around the same price as el cheapo alarms. The difference is shops will be more likely to install and service those brands because they know the name and they will be able to get tech help if needed. I have installed a few of the offbrand stuff from ebay. The end product is nowhere near what they hipe it up to be. I have opened a few boxes and thought to myself wow thats cool looking but there always seems to be some glitch or programming not in the copied half missing instructions. I have started charging double labor rates to install those no name products and I'm sure I'm not the only shop that does this.
