Camaro z28 2002 - beeping when locking doors
2002 Camaro z28.
I have an intermittent problem that is very irritating. It drained the battery once already.
When I click the button (fob) to lock the doors, the horn is supposed to beep twice indicating that everything is locked, off, etc..
It only beeped once for three days in a row and ended up draining the battery because it thought "something was on" or "not locked". There were no lights left on, the doors were closed, the hatch was closed, etc.
Of course the day I took it to the mechanic to show them what it was doing, it beeped twice with no problems many times over in their presence. They ran diagnostics and found nothing, so that was a waste of $100. That was 3 weeks ago.
Today, guess what, it's back to beeping ONE TIME AGAIN indicating that it thinks something is on, or not closed, etc. I have removed and put the t- tops back on, I have closed all the doors and the hatch (multiple times). I have made sure all of the lights are off. Why doesn't it properly indicate what it thinks is the issue?
HELP, WHAT GIVES? Any ideas would be most welcome. Thank you.

Re: Camaro z28 2002 - beeping when locking doors
here's an update, the radio remains on when the doors are open and also when I hit the fob to lock it and it beeps once. (I have to manually shut off the radio which should not be happening). The security light is also on for a few seconds after the door is closed, and that hasn't happened before either.
