building stereo, help!!

need help picking out parts, setup, etc... had a custom 10 inch sub/box in the car with a nice pioneer 2006 deck, alpine amps, etc. 4 Alpine Type S 6.5's, doors/sails

Long story short, building my 357,ran out of money, the car sat inside + outside a shop and sometime over 1.5yrs the stereo was stolen except my alpine 6.5 type S spkr's.

Now i have the car running, ready pretty much to take home but all that is left is my alpine 6.5's in the doors/sails. I have an amp that a buddy has BNIB, a link:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-ONX4.125.html

deck i bought from sconic cuz they give you install stuff free
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-KDC-448U.html

Now i am not sure which way to go..... I could amp up all 4 spkr's and just rock that.

Or was thinking of selling 2 alpine Type S's for some 6.5 subs, than pickup a set of tweeters. Than put the 6.5 subs in the sails for the 6.5 type S's, add tweeters in the front...call it a day.

or just use all 4 spkr's and add a stealth box 10 inch sub.

On a low budget tho, lets hear your advice/setups.

Re: building stereo, help!!

What's your idea of low budget - $500? $700? $1K?

For $700 - you can build a nice setup with a stealth box and all amped speakers.... Much below that you'll probably struggle to get all the pieces (Don't forget wiring & install if you're not comfortable doing it), even used....

But I personally believe you should go amped mains + Stealth 10" Sub. This allows for T-Tops off driving and the ability to truly enjoy your tunes. Not talking over the top (65W x 4 + 5/600 Sub), which means no Alternator Issues, and/or major space requirements for large amps, and no loss of t-top carrier space.

Re: building stereo, help!!

this is my amp

MB Quart ONX4.125 - 1000W RMS ONYX 4-Channel Car Amplifier/Amp

i have alpine type S 6.5, 4 of them. And a good kenwood deck, KDC 448U. the 3 line display. i am going to amp up the spkr's and than need advice on what i should do from here?? i can afford to spend another $ 300-450 on the stereo.

Add a 10 inch, stealth box sub??

ditch the sail spkr's and add 6.5 subs??

or only the the sails play mids??

Your budget matters a lot. First prepare estimate of cost & select the best variety.
