subs

i run two of the new kicker cvx 12s. they are 1600 watts each dual voice coil 2ohm. i have them at 1 ohm running a planet audio 1900 watt mono block amp at 1 ohm and it hits pretty damb hard. if i knew how to post pics on here i would. lol but to answer your question you can fit just about anything in the camaro depending on how creative you get. i have a buddy thats has 12 15s in a extended cab chevy siverado. like i said how creative you can get.

Here is my set-up. 2 15in Memphis Reference series subs and a older Rockford 600 watt amp. It's sounds good and suprises most people. I know those are the cheapest subs Memphis makes but I can't fit a sub in there that is any deeper due to the design of the box. There was really nothing we could due about it though. I can't put a spacer in there to raise the sub up because when the sub is extended it will hit the hatch. I had to pull off the molding on the hatch the way it is. Never had my current set-up on a meter but I did take my old set-up to competition. At that time I was running two cheap Lightening Audio 15s and a 300watt Lightening Audio mono amp. Highest was a 148 in Outlaw SPL. I blew 3 sets of the LA 15s so I switched to something else. The Memphis subs are built great for being cheap, I've been running them for 3 years with no problems. And the Rockford amp is a tank, it's been through a lot of abuse over the last 7 years.

Hey guys i can't decide what I'd like to do. I'm thinking of getting a box from subthump.com which their boxes look outstanding. I can't decide if I want to do two 10's or two one 12" or one 15". My audio setup includes a Profile amp powering 4 CDT 5 1/4" speakers. I'd like to get something to match it up well with this system but not to powerful which it rattles the trunk because that sort of thing turns me off. I just like a good clean bass.

Thanks guys. And FWIW i have a 94 camaro. Did not come with a monsoon system orginally or bose.

IF an anp is rated at 1 x 800w @ 1 ohms, 2 x 300w @ 2 ohms and 2 x 200w @ 4 ohms. Does the latter mean taht if I hook up two subs that each sub gets 200w respectively?

Yes your amp would have the capability to push 200 watts stereo assuming that your speakers present a 4ohm load.

Systems I have had:
4 jl w1 12s sealed with PPI 2350 dm
2 alpine type R sealed with 2 Soundstream Rubicon 500/1's strapped
2 crystal CMP 12's sealed with Soundstream 1002
1 Solo X 10 ported with Kicker KX2500.1
3 Powerbass extremes 12's ported with 2 Soundstream Rubicon 500/1's

I've had a few more here and there. All the systems with built into the well and I didn't remove any plastic or change the backseat at all. I work in the car audio industry and get board alot as you can see.

Some dude on thirdgen.org has 2 18" kickers in his 3rd gen. Geeeze. I think they had so much excursion in em that he had to do custom work to the plastic trim on the hatch to keep it from hittin
