Post best place to put subs in 95 camaro

I currently have 2 rockford 12's in the area between my backseat and the trunk. I'm thinking about getting 2 juggernaut subs, either 12's or 15's, and i was wondering if it would be better if i put the box in my trunk, or where my back seat is located. I want to hit at least 150 db. Power and watts are not a problem, i just want to know where most of you people have your box's.

you can check out the link in my sig.

You can also check out the boxes offered at http://www.subthump.com

I'm not sure about 150dB or not, but I'm sure your best bet would be something like the subthump well box.

i was advised to put them above your fuel tank and make the box run parallel to the rear window, about 6 inches away.
Port on the opposite side that the mic will be placed on.
He said that through a lot of trial and error he actually went with a lower tuning frequency and tones (he told me to tune to 45 and play 47-48 Hz), but that is dependant on your sub.
This was all from the MECA champ in his class and world record holder (meca also).

thats the same setup i have. My subs face the window. I have 2 ports, one on each side closest to the rear of the car. I have 2 12'' rockford punch hx2's and am running them with a bd 1000. I play 45 hertz , and can only hit like 144. I want to know when i get my new set up next year if i should put the box in the same spot, on the back seat, or in the trunk

Thumbs up

How big is your box? To give you an idea about my well box: 1,000 watts with two 12w3s in 1.0 cubes sealed normally hits 143-144dbs. Now, I can evev take that same box, put the extension on it to make it bigger and port it. Doing so would make it even louder. Food for thought.

OK, my standard box size sits on the midshelf in the well right above the t-top holders.

The "Extension" is simply another part of the box that when installed, extends the box down to the very bottom of the well. Thus, increasing the overall volume of each chamber by .5 cubes each.

Here's a couple pics of the "deep" box. 2nd row. Notice how tall it is. It's actually dubbed the "v6maro" box because he got the very first one

I really don't recall from your other thread (yeah the one where you called us all stupid) wether or not your box is 2.5-3 cubes per sub or total.... but anyways since you are going for an SPL only install just get a single DD 9515 or an Adire Brahma 15, and make a really big box, high tuned box.

I did 146.5 with a single Adire Brahma on 1000 watts (with the stupid infinity Beta amp cutting out) with a SQ tuned box (30 Hz). If you tune for SPL this thing turns into a monster... and the box was way in the back, so if i build a new box, i and going to build it to the spl specs that were recommended to me. I will have to wait till spring tho, because i can not hit the last few events of the season, but i will be in the winners circle next year... well moreso than third place anyways oh well third isn't bad in an SPL competition when you have a SQ box.

Yeah, it completely slipped by me that you were the one from that other thread. I remember it now. You called us a bunch of names and said you wouldn't be back. The others are right, you do have a lot of nerve coming back and asking for more help.
