Battery draw - 0.7A from PWR ACCY fuse 7
Battery draw - 0.7A from PWR ACCY fuse 7
Long shot, but does anybody have any idea - 97 Z28 with a new battery that dies after sitting a few days
I tested with a multimeter to find the .7A draw that comes sometimes from fuse 7 (PWR ACCY) - I think I have traced it to the keyless entry, but am stumped now.
When I pull that fuse and put a multimeter between the prongs in the fuse box, sometimes it pulls minimimal to nothing, sometimes 0.7A - when it is reading 0, I turn the key to run, the 0.7A draw kicks in, then I turn it to off, and sometimes it stays, and sometimes it goes back to 0 draw. If I hit my keyless entry unlock button on the fob, sometimes it drops it to 0 draw, but soemtimes it stays at 0.7A. I don't think it is a sticking door lock motor (car only has 8000 miles - it is rarely used) - Is this tied in with the BCM?
Anyways, fuse 7 controls Park Lamp Relay, Hatch Release Relay, Power Mirror Switch, Radio, Shock Sensor, Instrument Cluster.
I have for sure ruled out the hatch, power mirrors, radio, and probably shock sensor - don't really know how to check the instrument cluster or park lamp relay.
Any ideas would be much appreciated

Hey! I know this post is old, but I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Did you ever determine the cause?
I started having the issue after soldering the front door speaker wires to the speaker. Could I have created a short by hitting something while taking the door panels off?
Thanks for any replies!

No - I wish - I only drive the car maybe 10 -20 times a year, so i just live with the problem - when I park it, I just pull the fuse if I am going to leave it parked for a week or more - it is kind of a low tech approach and frustrating, becasue the car only has 13,000 original kms on it. The battery charger is my friend.
