i wouldn't do that, that makes the space that the amps are in sealed and will cause them to overheat, they need to breath

idk about the window tint being able to cut down on heat. mines tinted 20% mainly due to theft issues

that is a group loop. a ground loop isolator can help with that, but you also can just try regrounding your wire from the amp. if you ground to the chassis make sure you wire brush away paint before tapping onto the metal for a groud

Hey, y'all

Has anyone done a down-firing set-up?

I just put a Clarion in the dash, got lucky and the car came with Alpine Type S coaxials in all four corners... but 5.25s !! Ehh, whatever, I'm really amazed at how good they sound for head unit power. I'll swap them when I get the sub figured out.

So I'm trying to figure how to put subs and amps in w/out taking up ALL the space, and I figure down-firing would be about the only way; mount the amps to the back of the box, maybe?

I'd like to put my 2-12" HX2s in there, but I can always use my 2-10" C-VRs. I have plenty of power... I just need a design. I do my own wood and fiberglassing....

So, does down-firing work in the tubs? Anyone seen one?!

Thanks.
