Attention: Those with STOCK 1991/1992 Rare CD Player, Probs, Questions

Does ANYONE here have this RARE STOCK CD Player? I say rare because I have never been able to locate Anyone with the same CD player.

I need some questions answered for anyone who actually has this particular cd player:

1. I could SWEAR the buttons LOWER SECTION "Volume / Pwr / Set / Tune / Eject / ST/PL" LIT UP / PREV / NEXT / REV / FF / COMP! However they don't anymore.. I opened the cd player and only could find the 1 bulb that lights up the other buttons UPPER "Seek / Scan / AMFM / RCL / BAL arrows / Bass / Treb" Exactly WHICH Buttons light up at night on yours?

2. Approx 3 years ago the CD player stopped working. When you pop in a CD is does nothing.. How do I fix this? I don't want to change the CD player as like I said before, it's a rare option that I want to keep.

3. Have you even changed the bulb inside the player? How many bulbs were they? I could only find 1 small one.

I can't offer you any advice on how to fix it.. but honestly, a rare option is only good if it works. CD players aren't exactly going to make your third gens value skyrocket. I honestly wouldn't invest any more time into it, and just buy a new, nicer headunit.

You should do some searching around on ebay...I see them pop up every now and then. There are a lot of companies out there that refurb all sorts of Delco "brick" stereo systems.

I have seen a picture of one of those, and yes, the buttons at the bottom including "comp" should light up.

I assume brick is due to the shape?

I am still trying to locate the actual part number for it. However when most people who see the cd player seem to say the same thing "Never seen that one before!", it's a little hard to find it. And all the online stores that have these Delco stereo's have the 80-90's but NOT this one so that's not helping..

I don't know if you've seen this website... http://www.mnrelectronics.com/cuscom.html

If you send them your radio, looks like you can get it refurbished. If I remember correctly, they've been around for a number of years.
