Reason I'm asking is a buddy of mine's brother owns a car audio shop and can cut me a deal. Plus I've always heard good things about JL. Lemme know what you think .

im running jl 12w3v2's in a well box that i custom made and they sound great. you have the version 3's so im guessing there a little newer and nicer. I got both of mine lightly used from a good friend for 150. can't beat that for a good sounding setup

 

Good subs, clean sound and will be loud enough if you go with 2 x 12". Depending on a deal, your brother can give you, consider getting 2 x 12w6v2's

I went with a 12W3v3-4. I'm only going to do one since I don't want to add too much weight. Turns out my bud's brother wanted $70 more than where I wound up buying the sub from ($230 vs $160 new). I guess I wasn't going to get a very good deal after all .
