Yes, water CAN get inside the doors. Thats why the speakers have drip guards and there are drain holes along the bottoms of the doors. Why don't you place them behind the kick panels? Thats what I did.

there is a huge place to mount the crossovers behind the door panels in the area where the arm rest is. That's where I have mine, they're weather protected and it's a good place for them. Just doublsided-sticky tape them in there if you can't find any better way to mount them. Mine are screwed in there on a piece of wood that is screwed to the door panel, but any way would work...

The water is going to be a problem at some point I am sure. Nearly every car I have seen with cross overs mounted in the door needed to have those crossovers serviced.

Are you referring to the passenger side kick panel? If it's like my '99 T/A it's just a piece of plastic hanging there. If you look closely at the pic you can see that I just cut it off.

My car (94 TA) has that also.

I put my crossovers on the drive shaft hump (well actually the transmission hump).

I ran my wires up the drive shaft hump from the back, and my tweeters are not on the doors, so it was a convenient place and has the potential to be aesthetically pleasing.

Just an idea.

in the area where the deck is mounted, there's actually quite a bit of space behind there. You can take out the A/C controls and mount them behind there, then put the A/C controls back (probably, never done that though) I'm sure there's space enough to do it though with a little imagination/work... I still like where mine are - hidden in the back of the door panels.

G'luck
