Another system idea

What do you think of this, 3 kenwood 929 amps, the "1000 watt" amps, but more like 450w, and then three brahma 10's or 12's. Would this be worth it to try, because I already have two of the kenwood amps. What other subs would work good with three of these amps?

I would spend the money for the Brahmas..... with only 450 watts your gonna need a larger box to really use the Brahma to it's fullest. Which you don't have in an F-body.....

To get the full brunt out of the Brahmas with only 450WRMS, you will need a more efficient (larger) box. Which actually, with the Brahmas, still isin't THAT big! LOL But still, if you are planning on porting a trio of them, you may not have the space in an F-body.

SOOOO...... I'm saying I wouldn't spend the extra cash to buy three Brahma's..... Keep the two amps you have already and try it maybe with 2 12" Brahmas in maybe 2cuft. each? (Before port and woofer displacement)

Go with a one DVC sub set-up (with 2 ohms per VC) then run each amp to it's own voice coil. That way you'll have 450 watts going to each coil. Then build a big ported box tuned to about 35 hz.

Would this be louder than two seperate subs in a sealed box with the same power?

Well it all depends on what kinds of subs your planning on using, what kind of enclosure, and how good the installation is. Don't be discouraged by thinking about a single sub either, if i'm not mistaken the World Record for SPL was made by a single DD 9515. Plus it's impressive as hell to get loud with a single sub set-up. I say take a 12" Brahma put it in a ported enclosure tuned to 32-38 hz and put each amp on it's own voice coil. And to answer your question better....if you are planning on running 2 Brahma's sealed you'll need a lot more than 450 watts per sub to get loud, so a single 12 with 900 would probably be the best.

BTW - Are you stuck on Brahma's? if not maybe you should be looking at some other sub options.

I'm not really stuck on them, but from what I have heard they are a good brand. Any other sub ideas then?

Elemental Designs K series subs work great with 450 watts. Two 12 inch K-series would pound.

$135 per sub, but when you buy two at the same time it's $243. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of these subs before, but they are damn impressive and sound amazing.

you might search around on www.caraudioforum.com just to get the low down on these subs. Highly recommended by lots of car audio enthusiasts.

Why are they so cheap. I figures any good sub would be at least $200.

Those prices are factory direct. Alot of times with "good" $200 subs you pay for the name. Just look at subs like Kicker Comp VR's, good quality, decent sound, good SPL $95 at ikesound.com.

Please inform me!

I was pretty sure it was a DD sub, could've been a 9900, but that was also a long time ago.
