Amp Wiring Advice

Im looking for some help with where to place my power supply for my amp. I have a Optima with both side and top posts and was wondering what the best way was to put the amp power cable on it was? Or would it be ok to wire the amp to the aux power supply post? Thanks for any help and advice!

Do not use the auxilary power terminal... you can use either side or top mount post whatever works better for your application, I think top mount would be easier but sidemount would look cleaner

Re: Amp Wiring Advice

thanks, i got a sidemount adapter and it works great. Took me FOREVER to wire it all up though, cuz i decided to do the hidden wire mod at the same time, so it took me a while to work on that but in the end i think it looks alot better than having a big power cable running over the strut tower. Ill get some pics up when everything is done and cleaned up.

Re: Amp Wiring Advice

Get the thickest guage wire you can and run it from the battery. Whichever post is free, use that one to attach the wire. Make sure that the wire is long enough to route it clear of any possible obstructions.(don't ask me how I learned that lesson)

Make sure you protect the wire with a plastic grommet when you take it through the firewall.
