Re: amp turn on wire

You can tap an iginition wire somewhere or off of the power antenna. Firebirds are easy enough because the radios already have a remote turn on. Just tap into the pink wire. Camaro radios also have a remote turn on but there is not a wire coming out of the radio for it. Get a connector to fit the radio harness (available from most auto parts stores) and plug your wire into pin #8. This is your remote turn on.

You can get the connector from Radio shack, it is called a D-Sub female, you can use either a 9pin or 25 pin. They use the same connectors you will just have extra $3 or less. Home Depot has the wire, I used 16 gauge blue wire, comes in a roll of 20' $2.50.
You will have to put the connector on the wire and plug the connector into the #8 hole in the harness behind the radio. Then run the wire to the back.
