I am looking at a JL setup. My fronts are the XR650CS and my rears will be TR650CX. I am going for the budget sounds system as that is all my wallet will allow. I am 90% sure that these are the speakers I am going to get. Both are rated at 70w continuous so can anyone recommend an amp for these. I am sure that they can handle more then that but I don't want to work them too hard. All input is appreciated. Thanks a lot,

US Acoustics makes good budget amps. Also check out ebay/ubid for anything else. I picked up a refurb 55 x 4(120 x 2) mtx amp for $50 off of ubid. It didn't have a picture, so no one bid on it.

US Acoustics has 120 x 2 amps for around $100.

 

I will also recommend a MTX. Don't worry about the ratings on their amps, they underrate them bad and each one will come with its on birth certificate telling you the actual power it puts out. Check ebay out for a decent deal on a 4244.

 

I Second the US Acoustics. I am running them in the Z and will be putting them into my GSX Soon. They are pretty clean sounding and are underrated as well.

hey man..if you want a good amp for mids or highs go with an ALPINE V12.. I GOT ONE ON SALE IN 1997 AND I STILL HAVE IT. it is by far the best amp i've owned. the JL 650 are nice speakers . i have the JL XR's... really good choice. let me know what you decide.
