Exclamation amp causing electrical issues?

I have always heard that subs cause interference in older camaros. I have a 93z28 with a boss audio 4000w amp powering 2 tsw3004spl pioneer premieres and my car has been randomly dying and a couple times I have turned the key on and have lost all power. Would also not respond to a jump. Has anyone heard anything like this?

Re: amp causing electrical issues?

update: it was the distributor going out that was causing the problem. but my mechanic thinks the stereo system keeps messing up the distributor. has anybody else had any problem with putting a system in? i dont know whether to put a capacitor in, extra battery and bigger alternator, or switch to the delteq distributorless ignition system

I have not heard about Delteq for a while and assumed they are out of business. As long as your battery and alternator are working fine you should be ok. Opti's on these cars don't need amps to go bad, it happens all the time without.
