Alpine V-12 vs. PG Octane R series.... Which one?

I have been looking at getting a good 5-channel amplifier, and have run across the Alpines and Phoenix Gold models.

Which one is the better amp?

I want a good clean sound from my fronts, rears, and, a nice punch to the sub (I'm looking at getting a 10-12 in Image Dynamics sub for a stealth install) After hearing ID stuff, I'll more than likely go with them for the fronts and rears as well... awesome sound quality...

My bro has been into car audio for a while, and bought the PG M100 and M50 a few years back. They were incredible amps... high power, low distortion, etc... I am not sure of the quality of their stuff now...
I know Alpine does make high quality equipment, so there is the dilemma.

Okay, so what do you guys think? Which amp would you go with, and why?
