Alpine Head Unit Won't Fit

Anyone run into this problem?
The deck fits fine if I don't use my RCA cables for my sub and speakers. But once they are plugged in, the deck won't go all the way back. The cable connectors hit the Air Vent defroster tunnel-thing in the back.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I'm using the METRA model: 99-3300 dash kit

Do your RCA's have straight ends or 90-degree ends? If they are straight then try some that have 90-degree ends. Also, some of the kits come with a spacer that goes between the dash kit and the radio cage to flush mount the radio with the dash kit. I can't remember off the top of my head whether or not that kit comes with a spacer though.

I had the same problem with my Alpine 9855, but after a little work I was able to stuff the deck in there. The deck had to go in at a little bit of an angle, but after I put the dash cover back on, I couldn't even tell.
