Alpine CDA-7998 ROCKS!
Alpine CDA-7998 ROCKS!
All I have to say is WOW. I used to be interested in car audio more than anything. I ran a Kenwood Excelon deck which was above-average quality about 6 years back. I then got my Z28 and was more interested in going fast than I was about the sound system......so i had a crappy Rockford deck in there for about a year. Today I put in an Alpine CDA-7998, which is a 2 year old deck and is still rather pricey....at $500 shipped off eBay. However I was rather impressed by the time-correction feature and the solid build quality. The graphics are pretty awesome too, although I didn't buy it for the bling.
Just a reminder, this deck has no internal amp, so don't go out and buy it unless you already got another amp. The MP3 support is compatible with all the CD's I've tried so far. The Fantom Face XL feature is pretty nice....no more detaching faceplates for me.
In all, I'm a very satisfied customer and I highly recommend this head unit to everyone!
