Alpine audio

Alright guys I've been having a bit of a problem deciding what to get here as far as a stereo for my 93 Z28. I'm not huge into car audio but I know what I like, Type R or Type X from Alpine is what I'm sort of gearing towards. Does anyone else on here have a setup similar to what I'm looking for? I mainly listen to rock/hard rock/alternative, I don't want to go overkill, just want a clean sounding system for myself and I'm not worried about spl's.

Re: Alpine audio

They are both good subs... and for $100 the Type R is hands down the best sub for it's price range IMO.

I ran 4 12" Type R's for two years in my truck. It's a good SQL or SPL sub (depending on your goals and install). Then in my Camaro I went with 2 12" Type X subs, which are mainly a SQ sub but it also makes a good SQL sub. I wouldn't suggest proting the Type X, while the Type R's do very well in ported boxes.

Pretty much if you are going to do 1 10-12" sub sealed I would go with the Type X and put at least 800WRMS to it. If you are going to do a ported box or 2 10" subs I would go with the Type R's.

Really for what you want a 12" Type X in a 1-1.5cbft sealed box off of 800-1000WRMS would be best IMO.

Re: Alpine audio

Adire Shiva instead of the Type R, and IDMax 12 instead of the Type X
