I'm not using the remote start harness either (M6), and you still have to hook up to the ignition wires off the main brain harness (pinki wire i think) or the alarm doesnt reset itself. Then as far as the sock sensor and proximity sensor I'll have to let you guys know how it works out.
I think you're mistaken. The only pink wire is on the relay pack. It goes to the car's ignition wire, it's connected to the yellow wire (Ignition input TO REMOTE START) in the remote start ribbon harness thru the ignition relay. So it looks to me like it's only needed when you will be using remote start. I will hopefully be doing the install tomorrow so I'll let you know what happens. I hope the range isn't less than 5 blocks.

Now that I have taken a closer look at things I see that you're half right. There is no switched ignition wire in the primary harness. That means the alarm gets it's switched input from the pink wire in the relay pack. But since this wire is normally connected to the yellow wire (when the relay's coil isn't energized) in the remote start ribbon cable all you have to do is cut off the ribbon cable and connect the yellow wire to the ignition wire if you don't want to use remote start.

Got the alarm installed on friday. Install went good, just like any other. I didn't use the remote start so it wasn't too bad.

So far kinda dissapointed with the range. Will do more testing this week but it looks like if I decide to get a 2-way pager I will go with a compustar 2WSSA for my car.
