Now that I have taken a closer look at things I see that you're half right. There is no switched ignition wire in the primary harness. That means the alarm gets it's switched input from the pink wire in the relay pack. But since this wire is normally connected to the yellow wire (when the relay's coil isn't energized) in the remote start ribbon cable all you have to do is cut off the ribbon cable and connect the yellow wire to the ignition wire if you don't want to use remote start.
Got the alarm installed on friday. Install went good, just like any other. I didn't use the remote start so it wasn't too bad.
So far kinda dissapointed with the range. Will do more testing this week but it looks like if I decide to get a 2-way pager I will go with a compustar 2WSSA for my car.
