aftermarket tweeters with monsoon

97 TA with monsoon 10 speaker system and clarion mp3/wma.

ive got a 10" sub but now i want to do something with my highs. i was thinking of getting a pair of aftermarket tweeters. i did some research and found that in the birds the head unit powers the stock door tweeters.

would it be possible to simply swap the stock door tweeters for aftermarket ones and reuse the stock crossovers? and whats a good mounting spot? ive heard the side view mirror triangles arent good but the stock location is blocked by legs.

Stock-location mounted tweets sounds right to me. And, I think, they would work with stock HP crossover no problem. Bad thing, you won't be able to adjust them in this setup.

It will, and a lot of people succeeded with this setup (from the posts on different boards). I am just trusting more in external crossovers for components designed with midrange vs. hights balance in mind, with ability to adjust highs level. Your system will be like this:
HU---+--->Monsoon---->Midranges, Midbasses
+--->High Pass filter ---> Tweets
This will be harder to tune for a good sound, IMHO. But anyway, I am sure your aftermarket tweets will sound MUCH better then stock ones.
