Aftermarket Radio Install 97 Z28
I have a 1997 Z28 with factory AM/FM Cassette - I'd like to install an aftermarket system with CD, but I'm lost at...
The alarm system. The alarm system (among other things) is programmed through the factory radio - things like lights flash vs horn beep, and things like delay for interior light auto shut-off. How is this affected when the factory radio is removed? Will alarm still work? Will the current settings be retained?
Any help greatly appreciated!

not real sure. if it were me i would but an after market alarm and keyless entry on, even remote start if you feel like it. but for an answer i would go to a good car audio shop and talk to someone that does them all the time and see what they say.

I know on the LS1, it is the lock/unlock and removing the radio fuse for programing. I never heard that the radio was used to program for either. How do you? I know that in my experience the factory alarms still functioned after replacing a radio, but never changed any programing.
