I have heard a shiva awhile back, the guy was running about 500 watts to it(i think) and it sounded GOOD .He only had the one 12". Now i haven't heard the elemental designs sub yet,but the same guy that recommended the shiva to me also recommends the e designs sub.

Both are outstanding subs for the money. But it depends on how much air space you have. Shivas need LOTS of room, where e12's work in very small enclosure. That should be your main consideration. I personally tend to favor the e12. Simply because I know a guy who had a pair of shivas and went to the e12ks and said they sounded even better and hit even harder that the shivas did.

both are on par with each other, just different subs...

The Shiva is more efficient and has a little more low end, the E12K can take more power, go in a smaller box and looks better... your choice, both great subs

Also, let it be known that the Shiva only comes in a dual 8 ohm config. If you plan on running only one sub...... the edk is obviously the way to go.
