Lightbulb Adding 6x9's in convertable top well?

I might be able to get a good deal on a set of kenwood 6x9's from a friend, they are mounted in wedge boxes. It got me thinking, about getting a cheap amp to power them, and putting the boxes in the convertable top well, and when the top is down the back seat. Just for a little louder sound and better quality. should i disconect the stock rear speakers if I decide to do this?

Is it worth it, or am I just babeling?

I can get a good deal on them, and they are gonna be a little better than the stockers that are in there now.
