I have a 96 WS6 trans am with the 10 speaker cd system.... I want to upgrade it, and im having a real hard time finding information about it!!!

- Does this set up have an amp like the monsoon by the spare?

- Can i by an aftermarket amp that will mount where the stock one goes and still hook it all up???

Are all 10 speakers run off this amp? or are some ran off the head unit?

I really want to replace the stock amp with like a 700 watt infinity, and then buy all new speakers/tweaters with the high quality stuff!!!!

Any help or sites w/ answers would be GREATLY appreciated......

 

are you wanting to keep the stock head unit, if not i suggest just rewiring everything from the ground up, it is rather simple in our cars.
Your douptfully gonna be able to find an amp that fits the stock location and be able to drive all the speakers/subs? in your system.
you could just replace the stock speaker locations with 2 components up front and 2 speakers in the back powered off your headunit using your own wire or using the stock wire(crap) then get a small to channel amp and 2 6.5" midbass speakers in the sail panels.

Like he said. Best bet is to do it all new, and do it right. I am currently just running some fronts off of the new deck. Ran new wire. Took the other 6spkrs out, gonna put in a sub soon (already have it, just need a box).
