94 Firebird Radio Problem

It doesn't have the Bose stereo just the normal factory one. My dad was messing with the window switch on the driver's side. Well he plugged the original plug back in and it got hot and he unplugged it. But it killed the battery so, he charged the battery and everything but now the radio won't work. It doesn't even show the LOC or whatever for the antitheft thing. When I press the HR or MN button the time will show, wrong but show for about 5 seconds then turn off. We couldn't find any burned wires or blown fuses. We looked because the multimeter showed the original switch was shorted out. We unhooked the negative terminal on the battery so the comp would reset. Although he did do that when he started, after it wouldn't work anymore he called me to come check it out. Thanks for your help.
