93-96 Firebird Speaker Upgrade

This is for the 10 speaker sound system only!

I have had two cars with this stereo and love the way they sound but the sail panel woofer leaves alot to be desired.

After trying other GM woofers (Firebird Monsoon DVC and BOSE)
the impedence of the BOSE is to low (below 2ohms) and the Monsoon DVC wasn't that great.

The last speaker I tried was the Camaro SVC Monsoon, this was perfect! A 93-96 stereo with these sound better than the complete Monsoon system!

It is well worth the $80!

A budget is a great place to start. You can't do anything without knowing how much time and money you are willing to invest in this system.
There are a few questions you need to ask yourself:
Will I be able to afford it all at once or need to break it down into a series of steps to reach my goals?
Do I want to pay twice as much for retail or do I want to find a private installer locally or even learn how to do it myself?
Do I mind adding alot of extra weight?
Do I want to compete with this system?
And mostly, am I ready to deal with all the girls and attention this system will attract .

Just to give you an idea, system's start at around $2000 for nice equipment. You can go up from there dependent on how much you are willing to spend. You can also spend less, but the results may not be what you where hoping for. It all depends on what you want.

C'mon, they aren't THAT expensive . I mean look at the Rainbow Reference 2-ways, $7700 MSRP . By those standards even the Utopias are a bargain .

He's not asking for pointers, but rather sharing his experiences and making a recommendation for a cheap upgrade.
