4th gen hatch box dimensions?

Hi guys =) ,

good to know there are alot of other camaro lovers out there, just sold my 3rd gen and got a 4th gen camaro and i need to make a box for my hatch for two rockford fosgate tens =)

Just need some plans/dimensions for the hatch , going to put in hdf and make a air tight box. Just makes things soooo much easier when you have plans to go by

thanks =)

I suppose you would be one to ask colonal sanders for his secret recipe. If everyone had his recipe, why the hell would we nee kfc for Some people work very hard to perfect a way of doing something. Then all of a sudden somebody wants you to "share" it so they can have it the easy way.

Why don't you try asking crutchfield if they have have sell plans for their boxes. I'm sure they'd fax 'em over right away

Fu(k yeah I'll send ya some measurements, I aint a greedball. Exhaust companies can get away with forcing you to get $400 headers & a $600 catback, but paying $200 for wood is a joke.

heck yah

thats what im saying , i can buy all of the parts for one of these boxes for like 30 bucks and if i had plans it would only take an hour or so to build , so why is it so expensive?

I understand the whole "secret recipe" thing...sort of , but all it really is , is measurements of a trunk of a car, their not even fit as far as volume for a certain speaker , its just a "you get .80 volume per chamber...make it work" which would be all good if it wasnt outragously priced.

so, im gunna take 30 bucks , and some time , and build my own box , il try to post some pictures here for it , and out of the goodness of my heart , il make a plan , and post it all over the internet , with web adresses of where to order components and fiber board from =)

Just in case this helps....I bought my 2 10's at brandsmart (rockford hx2) and at brandmart they had pleanty of boxes for 2 10's...and it jus so happend that there boxes for 2 10's fit PERFECTLY in my hatch facing up....looks really good. O yea...it cost 80 bucks....so its not quite 200 but then again 80 bucks isnt that bad of a price.

yah 80 is definetly a bit more resonable , atleast a 50% markup , but better then lets say a 200 - 250 % markup =) ...il take a look at that site , right now i have two rockford fosgate 10's and a memphis amp , i want to have the box fit into where the t-tops are supposed to go , and have hinges and a handle and a lock on it , but all that stuff i can add afterwards =) , we did the same thing with my old camaro , except i was using freeair speakers so all i needed to make was a deck.

That's not a very good way to run a business. If you ask Qlogic for their dimensions I'm sure they wouldn't give them to you either but I highly doubt they would give you such a smart assed comment. Makes you look like a **** if you ask me. A simple "sorry I don't give them out" or simply ignoring the topic would have been much more professional.

I drew up some plans for an ALL MDF enclosure, but it was extremely complicated the way I was planning to do it. Plus, I didn't have all the tools to do it myself, so I figured I'd just pay $70 for a dual 12" box that uses the entire trunk well. Doesn't look just perfect, but it's a decent sealed box. There just isn't enough room around the subs to port them.

Now that I have all the tools I need, and the winter to work on it, I might dig out my plans and build my own.

honestly, I am the same say,

Why should I pay $250 for something I can do for $50?

Companies make great boxes, if you want them to look perfect, but the plans are not that complex, and if you have some free time, why not?

I got some wood working tools in the basement and sure as hell going to attempt it myself, dont really feel like paying 5 times the cost for something.
