4 channel deck with 6 channel setup?

I could really use some help here. I basically know nothing about car audio.

I bought my 98 Camaro used with a tape deck and 12 disc CD changer in the back. Since then the 12 disc changer kicked it, (I tried swapping it into my friends car and his wont read it either).

Basically I just want to buy a cheap MP3 deck, mounting kit, and wire harness, and stick the thing in, and be done with it, but I'm worried that it won't work with the existing speakers.

My old car was a 2000 V6 Camaro and it had the Monsoon setup, and I read nightmare stories about not being able to swap decks and speakers and yadda yadda... I'm not sure if my Z28 has the Monsoon setup. Did they even use it then?

In either case, my question is, if I go out and buy a 4 channel deck, wiring harness, and mounting kit, and wire it up, and plug it in, will all 6 speakers work?

Yes. No matter if you have the Monsoon system or not. Swapping the deck out is a direct connect. No special adapters needed or anything. However, you will need a common antenna adapter. They can be found at ANY place that installs car audio. (Best Buy, CC, etc.)
