2 styles of monsoon door speakers...how do i swap?

so my door speakers in the camaro have been out for years.

found someone selling monsoon door speakers and i bought them. little did i know that there were different kinds (i think they came from a firebird).

my stock speakers have 4 wires i assume for the main speaker and a built in tweeter.

the replacements i bough have only 2 wires, for the main speaker.

how do i go about combining the 2 setups? can i just cut the wires and splice them? do i combine all 4 into the 2?

thanks

would love to go aftermarket...but i know NOTHING about how to chose, or wire up audio stuff.

i havn't seen a set of "bolt in" speakers for the monsoon system.

and i don't have the know-how to rewire a whole system.

i'd like to just pull the stock POS out and put in a basic...good sounding (nothing special...not an audio freak)...system.

i'd settle for door speakers, and a speaker in each sail panel...don't like bump at all.

just somethign to jam to my boys-2-men CD from time to time

oh yeah...as far as losing my "highs".....considering i have NO front speakers right now...is it really gonna be that bad? some sound is better than NO sound right? will it be distorted?
i'm not even sure what you mean by "highs"

Of course it will be that bad - it will be a lot worse than you're thinking I'm sure. When he said you wouldn't have highs, he meant it...because you wont have a tweeter, so you obviously can't.

Firebird door speakers were different -- they had component speakers up front, with separate component and tweeter mounting areas. Did the seller not sell you the tweeters? How did they list the ad for sale? Either way, you don't need experience to replace them. There are many options that will drop right in and be an upgrade from stock.

all that was listed was "monsoon" door speakers. didn't say camaro/firebird and i didn't ask. didn't know there was a difference.

not his fault...he didn't know either.

so there are drop in replacements.....elaborate.....link or PN and $$
