1997 Delco/Bose CD Player Auxiliary Input???

I have two vehicles with the same CD player, 1997 Delco/Bose model 09383045. I would like to be able to use an mp3 player with them.

Just right of center on the face of the unit are the four buttons, AM/FM/CD/AUX. AUX does not appear to do anything. Although its existance leads me to believe it might be there to accept an auxiliary input... ???

I have googled the model for wiring diagrams, but nothing I've found so far would indicate "Wire auxiliary input here" type of thing.

What's up with that? Is the AUX button just for fun, but does nothing???

You'll be better off getting an aftermarket HU with mp3 capability.

You'd need a device like this: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piegm9aux.html

I'm not sure if this is the specific model is right for your vehicle, but their out there. However, for that price you could spend a bit more and get a low end Pioneer HU with an Aux input.
