Beware of Lojack!

I paid almost $1000 for the early warning system on one of my vehicles. I am not bashing it's performance or how well their system works (it was never stolen, so no complaint there), I am bashing their customer service.

The system was on my car not one year, and the vehicle was hit and deemed totaled by the insurance company. So I called up Lojack and asked if I could transfer the system to my new car. Of course they said it couldn't be done, since the system stays with the car for its lifetime. So I asked if I could just pay a fee to have another system installed on my new car and the old system removed. They said no. They said I would have to buy ANOTHER $1000 early warning system. Even though the car is totaled! No discount, no fee, nothing. I will never buy from Lojack again.

Buyer beware, take this with a grain of salt.
