Yeah, I understand that. They are needed because the GT500 is a lard ***. I wonder how much of that added weight was contributed by bigger tires/brakes in the first place. If the GT was given great brakes in the first place, and the weight of the GT500 was kept in check, there would be no need for the bigger brakes.

Tru'dat, but its interesting to note that the GT wheels measure 17 & 18 x 8.5 w/50mm offset and the GT500 wheels measure 18 x 9.5 front and rear with a 45mm offset. Unfortunately unless you get an after amrket wheel that has the 45mm offset or use the GT500 wheels (weak sauce compared to the Bullitt wheels IMO) you need a 10mm spacer to fit the GT500 brakes

However like you said the GT500 brakes in and of themselves wouldn't decrease braking distance on the GT unlike switching to some better rubber and maybe a change in the geometry (intersting fact, the geometery on the Shelby GT (not the GT500) is borked! Ford uses the FRPP FR3 suspension kit which lowers the car 1.5 inches without providing any means to correct the front and rear geometries) Potentially if Shelby where to change the front control arm position, rear panhard body attatching point, rear upper control arm, and rear lower control arm attatching points they would have an even better handling car (IIRC the instant center and roll centers are the most affected)

No matter who you are, or what you drive, 9 second ET's are only ~$13,000 away.

Somewhere somebody screwed together a turbo kit for that 13k bike and they got two of those motors sitting in an Ultima putting down a combined 1000hp.

I was looking at the rotors for the S/C on the ZR1 and it got me wondering aobut how they were manufactured?

Are they cast then anodized? Are they machined form a billet then anodiozed, or are they powered metal?

Not a surprise in the least.

It's the small-block Chevy of motorcycle motors.
