All-New 2004 Chevrolet Aveo Pricing Announced
Starting Price Is $9,995
San Antonio, TX - At a regional media program here today, pricing was announced for the all-new 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo arrives in Chevrolet dealerships in certain areas of the country in December, and goes on sale nationally in January. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) begins at $9,995 for manual four and five-door models (includes a dealer freight charge of $540).
"The Aveo has unexpected features, roominess and refinement that is not typically found in this class of vehicle," said Margaret Brooks, Chevrolet Aveo marketing director. "At $9,995, the Aveo offers a new choice for customers looking for outstanding value in a new car."
Aveo is offered in three trim levels including Special Value, Base and LS models. The MSRP for the base model is $11,690 and the LS model carries an MSRP of $12,585. Prices are applicable to both the four and five-door models, and include a $540 destination charge.
All three models feature a peppy, E-TEC 1.6-liter dual overhead cam 16-valve inline four cylinder engine mated to a lightweight, high efficiency five-speed manual transmission. In addition, standard features include rack-and-pinion steering, single-stage front air bags, daytime running lamps, AM/FM stereo, two-speed variable intermittent wipers, a rear window defogger and a 60/40-split folding rear seat, as well as many other features not always available in this segment's offerings.
In addition, Aveo offers a great selection of equipment on the base and LS models, such as air conditioning with cabin air filtration, power door locks, remote keyless entry, alloy wheels, and a CD player with MP3 playback.
Available options include a four-speed Aisin automatic transmission, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, power windows, heated outside rearview mirrors, uplevel seat fabric, power sunroof*, six-speaker premium sound system*, engine immobilizer*, rear spoiler and engine block heater. (*Some options become available in the first quarter of 2004.)
Fuel economy is estimated at 27 mpg in city driving, 36 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission, and 26 mpg city/34 mpg highway with the automatic transmission.

OK...who else got a chuckle from their trim levels. I didn't think there would ever be anything below the base trim...but now there's "Special Value"!
Joking aside....many have tried this before and these types of vehicles usually don't pan out. But this one seems to be a little different. Not only does it have downright cheap pricing, it also has some decent equipment!

I just wish they wouldn't use terms like 'special value' and constant sales incentives to sell their vehicles. I'd be oh-so-much more proud if they were to advertise products by their merits.

Price IS a merit. Always has been.
Has the nice side-effect of grinding your competition into dust at the same time.
