There's so much in the pipeline for this little car. I believe it's going to prove as the rally point for the company to get things back on track.

Best news all day. I hope they come out with a hard top/race version of the Sky as well. I like its styling better

That would be an interesting photoshop project. I'd give the sky more of a C6 type hatch I think.

Me too. Especially Pontiac in particular. GM will think much differently about Pontiac if it happens to have a hot product.
Who would have thought that small cars would one day be GM's strong point.

It'll be real fun when used Solstices start to come down in price and people can rag the hell out of them for cheap like the spec Miata series (serii?).

And there may be at least one other body style in the works for the Solstice.

Reuss showed a picture of a car labeled the 2007 Solstice GT during a panel discussion at the SAE World Congress. The photo showed the car in coupe form with a sloping, fixed roof, like the Audi TT.
Now that would be cool!

The still cant pick which of the Kappa's I like more. Both are very hot, and both will attract a major following. I want to see this Audi TT-esque coupe.

Yeah right! That's sweet. Verts are not my thing, I always liked the coupes. Mid-year Vette Coupes are my favorite, I guess its the lines that always seem lost on a vert with the top up IMO. This is part of what I like about the SSR. A vert that doesn't have that damn canvas top. That Solstice looks hot with a hardtop! Just Imagine this with an LS2/T56!

Re: You'll be able to get Solstice - "race ready"

If they can make a Solstice coupe for right around $20k with A/C and the power group, uhm yeah...I'd buy it It'd be hard to wait for a 5th gen with that little thing running around!

By the way, we filled 3 pre-orders for the Solstice yesterday! I'm sitting with the order sheet next to me as I type this. Fully loaded with polished wheels, XM, leather, on-star and everything should be right at $25k roughly

The thing I love about the Solstice is its elemental nature. I love sports cars. Solstice gives you everthing you need, a lot of things you want, and ignores the fluff. I feel like an SUV driver in my GP sometimes. I mean, do I NEED all that room for one person? Make a coupe Solstice, and I'd be hard-pressed to NOT buy one. I love my big comfy coupes (hence why I like the '06 MC SS so much), but the Solstice is getting harder and harder to ignore.

Re: You'll be able to get Solstice - "race ready"

Is the Solstice supposed to be a Halo car? There is so little production, it is nor really a volume car. Can you imagine some middle aged man coming in to look at a GTO, but deciding the buy the much cheaper Solstice instead? Will it steal sales from more expensive cars? What happens when they sell out? Seems almost like a "reverse" Halo car.

Those hard top pictures are gorgeous! After the first year of production, I may look into a Sky or Solstace for my wife.
