Yet another journalist needs "educating"
Yet another journalist needs "educating"
I've written this guy before regarding some of his arrogant and completely idiotic writings (non-auto related).
I figure I'd post his latest here since he wandered into an area he knows nothing about on the stipulation that those of you here "educate" the man on American automobiles.
I ask that you keep things civil, stick to facts, and avoid name calling. We don't want this idiot calling American car fans a bunch of uncivilized neanderthals.

There's no educating that one, much like a lot of America. Sadly though...he's found a way to escape darwinsim -- this is beyond stupid journalism....bloody fool.
I left a message...don't know what good it'll do.

So many things wrong with that column, I'm overwhelmed.
It's, at best, idealistic. At worst, it's just plain inaccurate.
From the irony of using a Korean-made car as the example of someone dumb enough to buy a Chevy Aveo (news alert: that's not a domestically designed or built auto), to attibuting the quality the domestics should strive for using Mini and Audi as examples (whose vehicles consistantly rank below average and below many domestics in quality rankings).

Read the whole thing. Don't agree with 99% of what he said, but what's scray, is I know A LOT of people who agree with him
TENS of thousands???? TENS of Thousands???? OMFG, what a 'tard

What's more, I'm also not so heartless to ignore the brutal job losses, the tens of thousands of collapsed pension plans and failed retirement accounts that would result from the end of American auto industry. It would be horrible indeed. But maybe that's where the government's billions would be far more useful, to ease the meltdown and provide retraining.

True enough, there are sane folks who are capable of seeing the world through something other than self-serving eyes, but there is a degree of wonder you can be encouraged to contemplate regarding the "what and why" folks so averse to personal transport would even fish into thier pocket to attend an event that celebrates that which offends them.
In earnest it isn't just a contingent that dislikes the fun you can have with your own vehicle... it's one of the only places I have been where some have a downright hate for the concept. Just one guy's personal opinion based on one guy's experience.
It isn't a majority deal, to be sure. But it is palpable.
It's a very interesting city. It has great restaurants.
I have been struck that it isn't a place where being part of the American experience is considered worthwhile. It is clearly a city embracing of the "bohemian" view of life. No sin in that. Let's just call it different.
To be sure, it isn't the majority sentiment, but it is the vocal and local sentiment that this person perceives.

I won't even bother writing this guy, I can already tell he values emotion more than logic and reason.
I laughed at how he said Korean cars were better then bashed the Korean built Aveo

Just shock-jock journalism vying for your attention. How ironic his name is "More Ford."
