Is it built to accommodate an AWD system?

It better be convincing because the Taurus SHO and the Lincoln version with TT/AWD , arent built cheaply and will have myford on the tech front to one up Caddy with . As much as a XTS-V would cost , it better be the mother of all large FWD based AWD cars .

I think the MKS with Ecoboost is very impressive, I liked it a lot when I test drove one, I think a lot of people sleep on them!

Yes, and the concept had AWD. Stretched Lacrosse platform.

Hybrid version of this would be perfect for the "black car" services in NYC.

It would be very cool, but it would be god awful expensive
If the everyperson tarus is 40K like that, attach the caddy name to it and the price is going to be insane.
Low volume for sure. One because of the price and one because old people in great numbers don't have an appreciation for such things.

Not that i was given an option but I rather the money go for turbo/awd EVO/WRX competitor be made before this. It wouldn't sell in great numbers but probably more popular then the caddy version. (and I'm not saying either is practical)

The Cadillac V cars are always more expensive than standard cars. However, they also outperform standard cars by a VERY noticeable margin.

The MKS with AWD and Ecoboost starts at over $48K.

XTS won't happen in its current configuration.

It'll be based on the next-gen Holden RWD platform which will spawn the RWD Buick sedan and coupe.

XTS seems like an "old money" luxury car like Mercedes and not "new money" like BMW or the CTS and Escalade.

I never got why they didn't make an Escalade V-series.

I'd be much happier about Cadillac's direction if this were the case!

I'd say XTS will get the Platinum trim as opposed to the V trim.

I'm willing to bet the only V-series cars we'll see are in CTS and ATS form.

Probably right.

But there has been some loose talk that the XTS could get a turbo V6 as soon as GM decides to pull the trigger on it. I also believe a V8 would fit.

I'm not sure about the torque capacity of the AWD system though.
