WOW Checkout This Chevrolet/Pontiac Dealership I Came Across (pics.)
Sunday the weather was awesome, so I took a back road ride with the T-Tops out. About an hour or so into my ride north I came across a nice small town called Williamstown, KY. I had never been through the area, sowhen I came up on a small Chevy/Pontiac dealership called Piles Chevrolet & Pontiac my mouth flew open in shock when I saw what was on there front line. Before you click on the pics. link, when was the last time you saw something other than new trucks and SUVs on Chevrolet dealerships front line.
Piles Chevrolet lot, pics. I took
Now that you have seen the pics. what do you think, oh by the way all of the F-bodies were 6-speeds except one of the CE T/As.Even the GTO was a 6-speed.
I hope this isn't too much off topic, but I just had to share with you all since this is where I post the most.

Awesome to see a dealer with some car enthusiasts employed!
Looks like the dealer advocates active buying for collectible inventory purposes!
This guy is also a "headhunter" for a side business.
They take requests for specialty cars (aka "orders") and hunt the car down for a premium. This is done via VIN numbers and title search, as well as buyer data from the OEM.
They take down your request for a 2001 WS6 T/A in Sunset, with CD, 6spd, and black leather for example. They reverse-decode the car to find out what significant digits in the VIN correspond to the criteria you give them. They next search the DMV for any vehicles with matching VIN codes. They then take the list and start calling the owners, asking if they want to sell. If they find the right car and the guys wants to sell, you got "your" car, and they got about a grand out of it.
Surprising what a market there is for such things. People want a certain car, and will pay premiums to get exactly what they want. Tough to do when it's a used car sometimes!

All of the F-Bodies were slightly used, most were '02s models with very low miles. I think the oldest one was a '99 T/A (Red w/Silver stripes on the side) it was also the only one that was a non ram-air. All of the 6-speeds were Hursts. All of the cars that were around back looked like recently acquired cars that have not been cleaned up yet.
I found a website for the dealership, it has a few F-Bodies listed on there site that were not on the lot Sunday. Also it appears that they are having a car show on the Sat. of Labor Day weekend.

Looks like a pretty cool dealership, they were closed on Sunday, but I wish they were open so I could've asked someone who likes the F-Bodies so much. I wouldn't mind at all to work at a dealership like this one, I bet I could make a pretty good F-Body saleman.

Thats awesome. We have a dealership around here (in VA) called Jim McKay Chevrolet and they had about 5 or 6 Camaros sitting out but a lot of them were automatic.

I really need to get my Firebird pics up. Our front lot used to look like that back in 2002 with all NEW ones
I think the most we had on the lot at one time was 8 new Firebirds, 3 used ones and 3 SSs I picked up from the auction...what a sight it was
I think my favorite pics of all (of which Red has one!!) is of 4 brand new Firehawks in a row...anyone else ever see a dealer with 4 in stock at the same time???? Only happened for a day, but they were all there together...

Reliable Chevy in Albuquerque, NM had 5 in 2002?....I had just delivered a load of parts, and drooled all over the 'hawks parked next to each other. I know two were black/gold, 1 was NBM, 1 white, and 1 red.
