There's nothing wrong with comparing 2 different V8 vehicles, so where's the problem?

I'd have actually made a choice if you put G8 and Econoline as a poll option

This is a CHEVROLET CAMARO website..... so of course, I'd choose the PONTIAC G8.

Which would you rather buy? A Pontiac G8 or a Ford Econoline Van?

Point proven & point taken.

I should have done it between a Dodge Rumble Bee Pickup truck and a Corvette.

(You do realize you just played into the purpose of this thread, don't you? )
Hmmm, Rumble bee pickup is not a Car, it's not fast, and doesn't handle great.
So, I guess I don't get it.

can you give me another example?

EDIT.
I should mention, it should be GM and a CAR!
Oh, I also mentioned sports car characteristics!
:-D

maybe its not a pool piting two cars up against one another but more about what people are looking for in a car now days. weather most people are looking for a roomy fun car to drive or more concerned about preformance

That would have made more sense. The G8 and Camaro will be cross shopped to an extent and already proven by at least 3 or 4 posts by people saying theyd take it over the Camaro after seeing it. Both sport cars, Both stylish go fast cars that handle with trunks. Camaro seats 4, G8 seats 4 or 5, both are close in size and the difference being how bad do you need 2 extra doors and the extra space?

For the record, 2 cars on my very short refined list of possible future cars for me are the Camaro & G8.

I wanted a family car so I can include the 2 kids, but we recently turned the 2nd baby seat forward (baby turned 1 at Christmas time), so now I don't need all that legroom.

So, here's what the short list looks like:
Camaro
G8
Subaru STI (waiting to see the 2008 remodel, and enhancements)

The STI doesn't fit much w/ the V8 rwd GM cars, but if you've driven one, then you probably understand why its on my list.

Not only do I understand, this is the perfect rebuttal. Im hoping if the Camaro and G8 are refined enough as a sports cars in the handleing dept it will pull some import Z350 and STI fans to cross shop.

Well, I think this thread is kind of retarded..... Of course there are going to be people that cross shop the G8 and Camaro. Remember, (guionM) when people were polled after buying a mustang what other cars they were looking at? I bet you do remember... a f'ing Grand Am. Interesting... (scratching head)

I seriously considered buying a WRX instead of my old trans am. I almost bought a TBSS instead of my silverado...

Course its a toss up between a bald eagle or aztec goddess

Damn, almost forgot, gotta have one of those mirrored ***** hanging in the back too.

Or maybe something in a A-Team model, that way I could pitty the fool that picked a G8.

IAWTP. Honestly, not really caring much about the # of doors, I would probably make the call between Camaro and G8 primarily based on the dashboard and the interior layout.

I've gone with people car shopping. The standard "uneducated" method seems to be to go to Dealer A, sit in three different cars, and then pick the best one. Then go to Dealer B and repeat the process. Then compare the best car from Dealer A to Dealer B.

So, no, I don't think its that unrealistic to think someone would be saying "Do I want that van or that sportsedan ... hmmm".

I also believe the scattershot method of carshopping is why the Mustang has always sold great even while the rest of the coupe market has collapsed.
