Would you buy a Solstice???

I mean I'm just curious, I was reading the posts and if there isn't any sign of a new Camaro any time soon I believe I'll jump into a Solstice. I'm 28 as of last Thursday and I've never bought a brand new car, they have always been used. I always thought I'd buy a brand new Camaro as my first but I think a Solstice would be a Hell of alot of fun, The only down side is that I'm a family man now so what would I do with my little Girl??? anyway I just wish I knew if there was going to be a new F5 or not. I truly believe the Solstice will be a HUGE success when it comes out and for that I'm happy. Anyways, maybe I'll just trade my Silverado work truck in on a new HD and just keep to my 1984 and 1970 Camaro.

We've heard so many cariations on price, equipment, and variations on looks that it is hard to say...

I still have my heart set on a Camaro though.

It all depends on what they do to it. The price will definitely play a big part. The power levels and if there is an available man trans. Like Darth said, there are many variables that need to be answered yet. But as of now it is definitely on my list of possibilities.

If the Solstice gets the official go-ahead for a 2006.2007 production then that would most likely increase the chance of a new Camaro being built off the same platform in 2007/2008.

If the Solstice gets canned then I think a new Camaro would get built off a shortened version of the Next-Gen GTO. If this indeed becomes the case then I would think the next-gen Camaro wouldnt get released until around 2009 or 2010.

I'd probably just get a 2005+ Mustang GT.

I would definately buy one. I have loved that car ever since i first saw a picture of it, then when i saw it in person it became that much better. I have never really heard any bad thing about it.

A mid $20K or less blown Solstice coupe that's as quick as my LT1 is definately a contender for my dollars.

That's the direction I'm leaning towards. I'd hate to give up the brute force of my LT1, but while there's nothing close to critical on my '94 Z28, A new car would be nice at least once.

A blown Solstice looks very tossable on the autocross course and a fun car in general.

I'm still kinda holding my breath tho for a '07 Z return.....

would be one of the cars I would put on my list to check out.

My next car, I will be alot more critical on all aspects of the car, not just raw performance - cause thats what my 99 Z28 is for..

That doesn't mean fun/performance/cost won't be a big deciding factor..

I must be getting older..

If the Coupe version looks half as good in Production as it did in concept form, then I'd definitely buy one

I like the coupe version, but I'd prefer a car with a back seat.

Solctice would make a good 4th car for me after I get a:

HotRod: 5th Gen Camaro
Sedan : CTS
Pickup : Silverado

I work at a Pontiac dealership, at a 2004 Pontiac Grand prix Ride & Drive they said the solstice will replace the sunfire... and would look quite similar to the concept. It would come in a convertable and hard-top... should be in showrooms by 2005, about the same time the new grand-ams.
